APRIL 2 PROPOSED AS WORLD AUTISM DAY

The United Nations hopes that proposed designation of April 2 as 'World Autism Day' would help draw attention towards tis epidermic which is estimated to affect 35 million people worlwide.......
Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser ,Permanent Representative of Qatar to the U.N. called on Members states to break the "barrier of shame" of people suffering from autism and raise international awareness regarding the importance of regarding the importance of early diagonisis and treatment of the disease......

Autism is brain development disorder that impaires social interaction and communication, and causes restricted and repititive behaviour , all starting before a child is three years old.
'Combarting autism is going to require worlwide effort. It is not politically,geographically or economically centered . It is an equal destroyer .'said Bob Wright ,co-founder of autism speaks, a U.S. based non-governmental organisation that works to raise awareness of autism and fund research for its causes and treatment.
An immediate global response to address the epidemic is being considered as the need of the hour.

Don't we already have enough of these days? What difference does it make? Another gathering, conference, meeting on this day? More resolutions, projects, initiatives. It doesn't even affect those people. They are retarded, they remain retarded. Dedicating a day to them doesn't cure them of their illness. The first initiative should be to give the, humane treatment and not to make them a separate caste of people.
